With mild hypoxic conditions, improvements were found in the blood glucose control (insulin sensitivity) in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Low Oxygen and Exercise To Treat Type 2 Diabetes

Patients with type 2 diabetes can exercise to improve glycemic control in the body. When patients with type 2 diabetes spend 30 minutes of exercise, every day levels can become stable.

If the physical exercise was repeated, for example, in combination with low oxygen levels at an altitude of 2,500 meters, the results actually show an increase in glucose levels of type 2 diabetes.

Dr. Mackenzie explained that the combination of low oxygen levels with exercise can significantly increase the body’s ability to respond to insulin. He points out the possibility of using sports with mild hypoxia as a treament for type 2 diabetes.

It goes without saying that oxygen is appreciated even more by those who need assistance to breathe properly. Luckily, portable oxygen has made oxygen therapy a convenient type of treatment. It has changed many lives. Sufferers who had been kept from leaving their beds are now able to go for a walk, thanks to this type of portable oxygen.

Portable Oxygen is Mobile Oxygen

Portable oxygen refers to a device that provides oxygen at substantially higher concentrations than the levels of ambient air. It can travel around in small mobile devices (concentrators, turbines, or tanks).

The use of this portable oxygen is not restricted to just the outdoors. They can also be very helpful in hospitals as a good substitute for oxygen cylinders. Oxygen cylinders are quite heavy and expensive. Portable oxygen, on the other hand, is not as pricey and is much lighter. The Navy also makes use of it for safety purposes.

This type of oxygen can be installed just about anywhere. They also help to boost the level of oxygen within our environment. It clears polluted air in rooms. Taking advantage provided by portable oxygen has allowed those in need of it to live, work, and play better.

The amount of people affected by oxygen deficiency right now is shockingly high. It is a disease that manifests itself by way of dizziness, bronchial problems, fatigue, influenza, tumors growth, and cold. Individuals suffering with these types of symptoms can find relief with this type of oxygen.

For the Healthy, There’s Portable Oxygen as Supplements

Improving the quality of life is the greatest benefit that portable oxygen has to offer no matter what medium it is being used in. Portable oxygen makes many things possible that were not in the past. For the healthy who want a little oxygen boost for exhilaration or as a workout supplement, visit www.oxygenbars.com for your canned oxygen.

Every year, people die of altitude sickness. All of these deaths are preventable. If you are traveling above 2500m (8000ft), read this information and tell your companions about it – it could save a life.

What is altitude sickness?

Altitude sickness has three forms. Mild altitude sickness is called acute mountain sickness (AMS) and is quite similar to a hangover – it causes headache, nausea, and fatigue. This is very common: some people are only slightly affected, others feel awful. However, if you have AMS, you should take this as a warning sign that you are at risk of the serious forms of altitude sickness: HAPE and HACE. Both HAPE and HACE are forms of altitude sickness that can be fatal within hours.

HAPE

HAPE is excess fluid on the lungs, and causes breathlessness. It is never normal to feel breathless when you are resting – even on the summit of Everest. This should be taken as a sign that you have HAPE and may die soon. HAPE can also cause a fever (a high temperature) and coughing up frothy spit.

HACE

HACE is fluid on the brain. It causes confusion, clumsiness, and stumbling. The first signs may be uncharacteristic behaviour such as laziness, excessive emotion, or violence. Drowsiness and loss of consciousness occur shortly before death.

HAPE and HACE often occur together.

Treatment of HAPE and HACE

Immediate descent is absolutely essential

Dexamethasone and acetazolamide should both be given, if available

Pressure bags and oxygen gas can buy time

What causes altitude sickness?

Two things are certain to make altitude sickness very likely – ascending faster than 500m per day, and exercising vigorously. Physically fit individuals are not protected – even Olympic athletes get altitude sickness. Altitude sickness happens because there is less oxygen in the air that you breathe at high altitudes.

Take oxygen with you if you can. Canned oxygen is on your side when ascending to new heights and new mountainsides.

Improving your memory is a matter of exercising your brain like you would any other part of your body.

Tricks for Improving Your Memory

Relate new material to something you already know. Make an association between something you know well and the new material that you want to memorize. When these kinds of links are established between new facts and knowledge already in your possession, then it’s far simpler for you to recall the new knowledge later on.

Drink water. The importance of this cannot be overstated. If you don’t drink enough water, your brain starts to dry out and doesn’t work effectively. When you’re not feeling well, you’ll struggle to remember things you know, and will have a hard time remembering anything new. The goal that most experts recommend is to try to consume between eight and ten glasses of water daily.

Eliminate distractions. Focus on nothing but that subject. If you wish to actually learn something, and not simply recall it for a test, then the information needs to be stored into your long-term memory. You must not have any distractions and must focus to place something in long-term memory.

Breathe purposefully. Throughout each day, set aside several minutes to practice deep breathing exercises. Take several deep breaths through your nose at the top of each hour. This helps to relax the body and the mind. It delivers needed oxygen to the brain. Oxygen is fuel for the brain. A little extra oxygen can keep it sharp while improving your memory.

Play games that challenge the brain. The game functions as exercise for your brain, just as running is for your body. Regular mental exercise can help in improving your memory. It also gives you increased ability to concentrate and focus. Try brain teasers, crosswords, and word searches, for instance.

Exercise. Exercise increases circulation, helping the brain function, and therefore improving your memory. If you keep your body fit by working out, you’ll increase the capability of your brain to remember things, and retain information. Exercising also carries oxygen to the brain, decreasing your risk of developing diseases that cause memory loss. Exercise also enhances the activation of chemicals that are essential for protecting the cells of the brain.

Stay fit. Stay sharp. Don’t forget to breathe. OxygenBars.com.

Oxygen Was Lost in Space Until Recently

Oxygen as individual atoms are common in outer space, particularly around massive stars like in parts of the constellation Orion. Molecular oxygen on the other hand, which makes up about 20 percent of the air we breathe on earth, has eluded astronomers until just recently.

Scientists are now saying that they’ve found proof of the oxygen molecule in space for the first time ever. This new discovery, which came about some 230 years after the discovery of oxygen gas, will mark the first time the life-giving molecule has been found in deep space, according to NASA. Researchers have used balloons for decades, as well as grounded and space-based telescopes, all to try to track down the elusive molecule in space.

This isn’t the first time oxygen has been searched for. Back in 2007, the Swedish Odin telescope may have marked the molecule, but the find could not be officially confirmed. This time around, the Herschel Telescope seems to have ultimately made the detection, according to the BBC. The find will be published in The Astrophysical Journal.

Oxygen is the third most abundant element in the universe. The molecular form of oxygen, consisting of only two atoms, had just never before been seen in space. These particular molecules were said to be found in a star-forming part of the constellation of Orion. One blog explains that the molecules that was discovered “may have formed after starlight heated the dust and released water, which then broke down into the detected oxygen molecules.” The Herschel Telescope, in this amazing discovery, spotted a star shooting “intense water jets” out into space.

This discovery may play a large part in helping scientists determine the life cycle of stars and protostars, amongst many other things one day.

So…

Why post about space, you ask? Because we are the biggest oxygen fans in the world. If you love oxygen as much as we do, try some in a can.

Even if you are not a professional athlete, you can definitely benefit from canned oxygen in your workout plan.

Let’s take a look at how pure canned oxygen can help you.

How Canned Oxygen Can Help You

Oxygen combines with glucose (sugar) to create what is called ATP, the main energy source for your muscles. The more ATP your muscles have, the more powerful and explosive they will be.

When your muscles don’t receive enough oxygen to support their exertion, they begin to produce lactic acid. This can cause muscle fatigue and failure. The more oxygen your muscles receive, the slower the rate of muscle fatigue.

Oxygen is needed in your body to break down lactic acid AFTER exercise. The more oxygen that enters your body POST-exercise, the faster your body will recover.

What type of athletes can benefit from canned oxygen:

• Strength Athletes
• Endurance Athletes
• Speed Athletes
• Action/Reaction Sport Athletes

What to look for when supplementing with canned oxygen:

• Increased Power and Explosiveness
• Increased Endurance
• Reduced Muscle Burn
• Reduced Recovery Times
• Reduced Cardiovascular and Respiratory Stress
• Increased Training Capacity
• Improved Mental Focus

You can find canned oxygen at OxygenBars.com and you can get more helpful tips by “Liking” us on Facebook and following us on Twitter.

Restore Oxygen Balance in the Body and Feel Better Quickly

Alkaline diet. Even though there are many conflicting charts and articles online about how to increase body alkalinity through diet, it’s really quite simple. Increase the amount of plant-based foods in your diet and reduce the amount of processed foods and animal-based foods, which are acidifying. If nothing else, increase the amount of dark, leafy green vegetables, such as kale, spinach, Swiss chard, parsley, sprouts, collard greens, and mustard greens, just to name a few. Organic super green supplements that contain chlorella, spirulina, barley grass, and alfalfa grass, in particular, also help to alkalize the body.

Adequate Hydration. Drinking enough water daily is essential not only for the utilization of oxygen in the body but also for transporting the blood and other bodily fluids. Without adequate water, all bodily functions are diminished, including cellular respiration and the removal of toxins and metabolic wastes. Drinking filtered water is necessary to get the full benefits of oxygenation. Restructured or ionized water is micro-clustered (creating smaller groupings of water molecules) and will thus provide higher levels of hydration and oxygenation at the cellular level.

Proper Breathing. Dr. K.P. Buteyko is a physiologist and clinical physician who devoted 50 years of his life to the study of respiration. According to Buteyko, sick people breathe using the upper chest and inhale more air, which causes reduced oxygen levels in body cells. Chest breathing causes us to take in too much air per inhalation and constricts blood vessels. Healthy breathing is slow (about 12 breaths per minute), from the diaphragm (rather than the chest), through the nose (rather than mouth) and is quiet and light. Contrary to popular belief, deep or rapid breathing techniques do not increase oxygenation!

Daily Exercise. Increase aerobic exercise such as walking, hiking or bicycling. Aerobic exercise will help your body utilize oxygen and remove waste through the lymphatic system. Whereas the circulatory system has the heart to pump blood throughout the body, the lymphatic system has no pump. Lymph gets circulated and flushed primarily through movement. Thus, from the standpoint of health and body oxygenation, you would be better off walking for 15 minutes a day rather than spending an hour or more in the gym 2 to 3 times a week. The most effective exercise I have found for flushing lymph is the mini-trampoline (rebounder). Two minutes of rebounding can flush the entire lymph and triple the production of white blood cells – a super immunity booster.

Adequate oxygenation and a healthy body pH are essential to health and vitality. Just a few of the potential benefits of maintaining body oxygenation at a balanced level include: enhanced brain function, stress reduction, increased energy, and a longer and healthier life.

How Oxygen Supports Body Detoxification

Health in the human body depends to a large degree on how efficiently nutrients can be absorbed and utilized at the cellular level, as well as how effectively the toxins and wastes can be removed.

Cellular waste is removed from the body in several ways. Part of the waste is dissolved in water and transported to the kidneys and liver for filtration. It is then eliminated through the urine and bowels. Toxins are also excreted from the body through perspiration.

However, some of the most toxic poisons in the body can only be “burnt up” and neutralized through oxidation. This is the job of oxygen-rich red blood cells that circulate from the lungs and into the deeper organs and glands of the body.

Minimizing your exposure to environmental toxins (e.g., using air and water filters, eating organic foods, using toxic-free personal care products) while restoring oxygen balance in the body is a common-sense plan for cellular rejuvenation and disease prevention.

Recent analysis has shown marine oxygen levels are dropping. Oceans are already oxygen-starved in places. Certain parts of the Northeastern Pacific have seen huge numbers of dead fish, shrimp, or mollusks surface on surrounding beaches. As of right now, around 15 percent of oceans are anoxic “dead zones” resulting in extremes in low oxygen.

Samuel Jaccard and partner Eric Galbraith researched how low oxygen has changed in oceans, focusing solely on the Pacific and Indian Oceans. One area they covered was the effects temperature had on the low oxygen levels.

Rise In Temperature Affecting Oxygen Levels

The study displayed the average global temperature rise of approximately two degrees Celsius between the peak and the end of the last Ice Age affecting a large portion of the oxygen in saltwater and saltwater life.

“The warmer the global average temperature, the more extended the oxygen minimum zones are, so the volume of these oxygen-poor water bodies is more extended during warm periods than in cold periods,” Jaccard said.

“Our analysis has shown absolute temperature is an important factor, but the faster the warming, the more expanded these zones are able to become.”

Oxygen-poor water bodies could mean the world for us on land. Another reminder that oxygen is precious.

Vernon Hinely was only a teenager when he needed to deliver oxygen to a man on Palm Island in Miami Beach. After parking his truck in the front of the Spanish-style home, two men in long overcoats and broad-brim hats led him to a bedroom on the second floor, where a man was struggling to breathe. He then applied his oxygen tank and left in a hurry.

On the way out the door, one of the men escorting him said, “You weren’t here, right? You don’t know anything.”

It late turned out that the man in need of an oxygen tank, was none other than gangster Al Capone.

“He was crossing the causeway back to Miami and a reporter pulls him over and said, ‘You just came out of Al Capone’s house,’” said his son, Herbert Hinely.

Vernon Hinely, of Orlando, died recently of heart failure at the age of 87.

Vernon Hinely Puts Al Capone Behind Him

After the incident, he joined the Army during World War II and was assigned to the medical corp. Shortly after the war, he moved with his wife to Orlando to start an oxygen business in 1947.

His service was soon thereafter expanded to include Tampa and Cocoa.

Once Hineley started his own business capturing the CO2 released as a waste product by fertilizer companies, he found his success. This gas was released and converted into dry ice used by meat and poultry packers, carbonation for soft-drink manufacturers, and was the main ingredient in fire extinguishers.

Near the end of his life, Vernon Hinely relied on oxygen to helped him breathe. The machine hooked up to him would suck in air and purify it down to oxygen. Even with this, he never felt as comfortable with that canisters of gas like the one he once hooked up to Al Capone.
